Menu reference: Playlist

The Playlist menu contains the following items:

    New Folder
Creates a new folder in your playlist, ready for naming

    Add Files...
Allows you to add files to a playlist using a standard file dialog

    Add Currently Playing Item
If a control window is playing an item, such as a server or a single MP3, this adds the item to a playlist.

    Reveal Item In Finder
Shows the location of the selected playlist item in the Finder

    Enable All Folders
Checks off all the folders in the playlist, marking them for playback.

    Disable All Folders
Unchecks all the folders in the playlist, skipping them for playback.

    Organize
Allows you to automatically create folders in your playlist based on information stored in the MP3s such as 'artist' or 'album'. For example, sorting by 'artist' will create top level folders based on the artist name, containing sub-level folders based on album name. Within those folders will be your MP3s.

    Randomize
Will shake up your playlist, affecting the playlist's physical order. This is a "destructive" randomize.

    Reset Playlist Order
Re-orders your playlist based on the current sorting order. For example, if your playlist is sorted by name, it will physically re-order your playlist by alphabetical order.

    Refresh
Used exclusively for linked playlists, this will re-synchronize the linked playlist to the Finder folder it is linked to.

    Refresh CD Info
Each time the track data for a CD is accessed from CDDB, that data is cached in a file. This will force Audion to re-retrieve the track/title data for the selected CD from CDDB.

    Refresh Stream Guide
This will force the Stream Guide window to reload its list. Since the Stream Guide window will only load once per Audion session, refreshign the stream guide window is a good way to keep your list current.

    Repeat Playlist
When checked, will repeat your playlist until you tell it not to.

    Repeat Item
When checked, repeats the currently playing item until you go completely insane. (Try it with The Macarena! And go insane!)

    Shuffle Play
When checked, randomly chooses a new song from your playlist to listen to at the end of each song. Unlike randomize playlist, which affects your playlists order, shuffle play does not affect your order, and is done 'on-the-fly'.
